Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

Looking back up the road, I wonder if it would be an easier drive than I think

The rocks and erosion are intimidating, but few rocks here would create a high-crowning problem.
