Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

At a certain point, it's easier (and even faster sometimes) to hike than drive—as much as driving rough roads can be fun.
