Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

I pass two downhill bikepackers on the way up Hwy 190 toward Panamint Springs

Bikepacking can be so much fun, especially in the desert!
