Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

The road into Carbonate Gulch is getting a bit rougher

It's an easy drive so far, but can't be driven too quickly because all the gear in the back of the FJ bounces around a lot (maybe I need to tie it down).
