Hiking, camping and 4WD in the Mojave Desert, Death Valley and Eastern Sierra

These days I'm driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on desert dirt roads instead of the 10-ton bicycle of all those years past–and then hiking from there. Things change!

I wake up just outside the Hoover Wilderness, at Obsidian Campground, my first time here

I drove over the Sierras on Hwy 108 from San José last night and arrived here at Obsidian Campground at 23h00. It was dark then, so it's nice to wake up and see where I am.
