We're taking each day as it comes, with no firm plans, which leads to an excellent, relaxing hike today.
We haven't done much homework, so we don't know what we'll find today. We'll follow the old road until it ends, and then hike on from there. Beautiful place, it turns out.
Another chilly morning close to 40 degrees F. I'll stop at Panamint Springs for some gas before going too far.
It should be a serene day out on the Panamint Dunes by myself as the rain clouds move about and sprinkle. I'll walk around 10 miles round-trip from the FJ.
Beautiful, varied desert-canyon country ahead of me today to end this trip: about 16 miles hiking round-trip, from about 1600 to 5400 feet elevation.
